Everything’s Trade

Your mother traded her parents and her place of birth to marry a man with whom she would spend the rest of her life. Your parents traded their private and independent life to enter into a contract of marriage, pledging commitment and love for each other. Your mother traded nine months of comfort and free will to bring you into this world. You traded the entire day of care from your family with the time for education in school and college. Your father or guardian traded his savings to get you into a school or college. To get that money into the saving account, your guardian traded most of his/her every day’s life into the service of an employer or a business.

You are also into this trade now. You trade few hours of sleep to catch a flight, attend a meeting or complete a project; or may be just attend to a family member or friend who needs it. You trade your life every day between 9-6 or more for getting money in return. You trade at every moment of your life –

emotions are traded, health is traded, safety is traded, dignity is traded, wealth is traded and the biggest trade you have been making is the trade of your time.

Just take a flash back and you will realise that time has been the integral part of every transaction of your life. You have traded a lot of time till date in effort, expectation and hope of getting something in return. Not every trade has been a successs, but each has required an investment of your time, without an exception. Take a moment to reflect on how well have you traded your time (your life) till date. Spend some time to decide on what’s worth your time, for it is running out fast.

Thank you for your time!
